Paul and Cava Grill Expand; Jackson 20's Birthday Dinner

DOWNTOWN—Yet another expansion in the works for France's Paul Bakery. The Washington Business Journal heard word last week that the chain had signed a lease for its third DC location at 1000 Connecticut Avenue, NW, and today Prince of Petworth has some photographs of the coming soon signs. The bakery opened its first DC location in Penn Quarter back in May of 2011 and has since opened a second spot in Georgetown. [WBJ, PoP]

COLUMBIA HEIGHTS—Prince of Petworth also gets confirmation on some rumors that Cava Grill is headed to Columbia Heights. The owner of the building tells PoP that a lease has been executed and the fast-casual Mediterranean chain will take over the Radiance Medspa space with plans for a July opening. [PoP]

OLD TOWN—Tomorrow is President Andrew Jackson's 245th birthday, so that means not much other than that Jackson 20 is offering a special three-course menu in celebration. For $20 per person, they're offering a dinner that starts with a wedge salad, continues with shrimp and grits and ends with a red velvet cake. Happy birthday, Andrew Jackson. [EaterWire]
