Penn Quarter Market Reopening; Soft-Shell Crabs at Dino

PENN QUARTER—The folks from FreshFarm Markets send word today that the Penn Quarter farmers market reopens for the season on Thursday at 3 p.m. They'll be accepting SNAP for the first time and new producers include Evensong Farm, Gordy's Pickle Jar, Soupergirl, and The Red Zebra. CLEVELAND PARK—It's about time again for soft-shell crabs and Dino owner Dean Gold reports via email newsletter that he's got his first batch of the season in from Baxter's in Easton. There are 15 orders for tonight, with one for $23 and two for $29. [EaterWire]

CRYSTAL CITY—ARLnow reports that Matsutake Hibachi Steak and Sushi suffered a kitchen fire earlier this afternoon, resulting in some temporary street closures. No word, though, on how the restaurant fared. [ARLnow]
