OLD TOWN—Now that the Dupont Circle location of Hank's Oyster Bar has had its expansion, the Post reports this evening that Jamie Leeds is going to expand her Old Town Alexandria location as well. They're taking over the space next door, adding a bar and about 30 more seats. The restaurant should remain open during the expansion and the hope is to have it completed by the fall. [WaPo]
OLD TOWN—In other Old Town news, Metrocurean's Amanda McClements shares a juicy little tidbit from the folks at Restaurant Eve. In celebration of their eight years in business, when people born in April make a reservation for two in the Tasting Room Monday through Thursday, Restaurant Eve is offering a free dinner for one of those people. McClements instructs you to call the restaurant for details and here is their phone number: 703-706-0450. [@Metrocurean]
SOUTHWEST WATERFRONT—The City Paper's Housing Complex took a look at the redevelopment of the Southwest Waterfront and specifically what will become of the Maine Avenue Fish Market. There aren't really any specifics yet aside from that the "currently unused Oyster Shucking Shed and Lunch Room, a pair of ramshackle buildings surrounded by vending machines and ice boxes, will become a 'centerpiece,'" per a spokesman.
