Free Matchbooks at Restaurants Are Still Smokin'

MATCHES--Matchbooks are still classic freebies, according to Barracks Row restaurant Ted's Bulletin. The Washington City Paper's Young and Hungry explores why the free matchbooks are still essential to the Matchbox Food Group's branding. [WCP]

U STREET--Café Saint-Ex will be offering five new grilled cheese sandwiches to run throughout April for National Grilled Cheese Month. All sandwiches are $11 each and served with a side of hand-cut fries. [Eater Wire]

ATLAST DISTRICT--The Casbah is making progress. Prince of Petworth stopped by the site of the soon-to-be South Asian-themed restaurant in the Atlas District. He snapped a few photos such as the “cool looking lights” and reported that the exterior window will be similar to Pearl Dive’s. [PoP]

LOGAN CIRCLE--Tortilla Coast is extending its nightly happy hour from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. and adding food to the menu. [Eater Wire]
