Super Tuesday at Topaz Bar; Artini Happy Hours Begin

DUPONT CIRCLE—You might have heard that today is Super Tuesday and political types will be gathering in bars and restaurants across DC to watch the election results roll in. One such bar would be the viewing party at Topaz Bar from 5 p.m. until close. Mixologist Rico Wisner has devised five special cocktails named for the four Republican candidates and one for President Obama. They'll be keeping a tally of drinks ordered to see who was the most popular. The Ron Paul is a PBR, by the way. [EaterWire]

BOOZE NEWS—Today marks the beginning of a string of feature nights for the annual Artini benefit for the Corcoran Gallery of Art. Twelve of DC's fine mixologists have created special drinks inspired by the museum's art collection and will go head-to-head on March 31 at an event that's open to the public (ticket information available here.) But until then, the competing venues are all hosting Artini happy hours today through the end of the month. Click over for a schedule — tonight is at Oyamel from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. [EaterWire]

FOOD TRUCKS—Announcing yet another arrival on the food truck scene in the form of a popcorn truck. Stella's PopKern is now out on the streets selling gourmet popcorn that includes flavors such as Tuscan herb-infused olive oil with rosemary sea salt and dark chocolate drizzle with sea salt. You can find them on Twitter: @stellaspopkern. [EaterWire]

PENN QUARTER—Here's another new thing from José Andrés: America Eats Tavern has released a new pre-theatre menu that is a three-course prix-fixe for $35 per person. It'll be available from 5 until 6:30 p.m. [EaterWire]
