Sugo Chiccetti Sets Opening Date; James Beard Dinner

ROCKVILLE—The latest concept in the Cava restaurant group, Sugo Chiccetti will open its doors in Rockville on May 1. While Cava and its spinoff Cava Grill are Greek restaurants, this one is an Italian concept that, per a release, will focus on small plates, pizza, meatball dishes and charcuterie. [EaterWire]

EVENT PLANNING—If you've got $240 to spare and want to spend it on a family-style meal hosted by a zillion well-regarded DC chefs — including Fabio Trabocchi, Katsuya Fukushima, Nora Pouillon, Robert Weland, Scott Drewno and Cathal Armstrong — consider the James Beard Foundation's Sunday Supper at Union Market on June 3. The dinner begins with a cocktail reception at 6pm (with cocktail from Derek Brown and Gina Chersevani). Tickets are available online. [Eaterwire]

CLARENDON—Yes, it's definitely spring/summer now, as tomorrow marks the seasonal return of Restaurant 3's Patio Pig Roast series. Every third Thursday of the month through September 20, they'll be roasting a whole pig and offering pulled pork sandwiches, fries, coleslaw, beer and their bacon Bloody Marys. This week's event runs from 4-8pm. [EaterWire]
