Rogue 24 has announced that as of Tuesday it will be expanding dining options to include an eight-course "Evolution" menu and an even shorter option for the salon featuring three bites and a cocktail from mixologist Bryan Tetorakis. The Evolution menu will be offered Tuesday-Thursday only and will cost $85 — not much cheaper than the 16-course menu, but chef RJ Cooper explains that portion sizes will be larger for the smaller menu. Meanwhile, the "three creations and a cocktail" option will be available in the restaurant's salon for $30 from Tuesday through Friday.
So why try out a shorter menu? Well, it seems people don't always want to choose between 24 and 16 courses when they go out to dinner. Cooper tells Eater that he had a lot of regular guests request shorter menus so that they could bring clients into the restaurant without having to, you know, spend three-to-four hours with said clients. Understandable. Also, as Cooper writes in an email, "We can also reach an additional audience this way" — presumably the people who normally wouldn't drop $100 on a meal.
Cooper also insists that these add-ons are not meant to be taken as changes in the dining experience at Rogue 24: "The Journey and Progression menu will still be a premier focal point of our dining experience. We just added another child to the family." The new menus will likely be on offer through the summer.
