Well, that whole open-24-hours thing was fun while it lasted at The Hamilton. Guest of a Guest reports today that the behemoth restaurant and music venue has scaled back its hours. Rather than operating nonstop, now The Hamilton will remain open until 1 a.m. weekdays and 2 a.m. on weekends — with the bar remaining open an hour later each day.
So that's too bad because the 24-hour schedule was kind of one of the big sells when they opened back in December. A Clyde's rep explains to Guest of a Guest: "We had to keep cleaning the restaurant through the night, and with high turnover of employees it was hard to keep schedules up." Also: they will likely never go back to a 24-hour schedule.
Meanwhile, the Going Out Gurus point out that Black & Orange's 14th Street location scaled back its hours as well to 11 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 3 a.m. on Thursday. Hours remain until 5 a.m. on weekends. So there's a double dose of bad news for those with late-night schedules.
