SHAW—Baked goods purveyor Frenchie's has announced that it'll be taking over Seasonal Pantry for one day only next week as a pop-up brick-and-mortar bakery. While these baked goods are often available at the retail space, Seasonal Pantry is going to be closed next week, offering Frenchie's the opportunity to move in temporarily. There will be croissants, muffins, sticky buns and much more on Wednesday only from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. [Facebook]
BOOZE NEWS—The Washington Post reports that Bluejacket brewery from the Neighborhood Restaurant Group is not going to wait until the brewery opens next year to get started. Indeed, they plan to debut collaboration beers as soon as next month, with an imperial porter to be unveiled June 7 at ChurchKey. They expect to have at least 10 beers out there before the brewery even opens. [WaPo]
EVENT PLANNING—Speaking of NRG and, earlier, Vermilion chef Tony Chittum, this Sunday the chef will be cooking a spring farm dinner over at Arcadia Farm. It gets underway at 3 p.m. with cocktails and canapes, followed by four courses of dishes like pulled local rabbit and bison hanger steak. Tickets are $185 and proceeds go to benefit Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food & Agriculture. [EaterWire]
