Just a short year after opening, Sauca has shuttered its Columbia Pike location. ARLnow reports that the restaurant has posted a sign on its door reading, "Regretably [sic] Sauca has closed this location. Thank you for your patronage and wishing you all the health and happiness in the world." Even though Sauca's food trucks were well known throughout the area — and have even been featured on the Cooking Channel — ARLnow notes that the restaurant "still struggled to attract a consistent customer base to its slightly off-the-beaten-path location."
Another important thing to note is that the Sauca Twitter feed hasn't been updated since May 8 — though on that same day the truck tweeted a request for summer intern applicants in marketing and finance. Eater has reached out to owner Farhad Assari to find out what's going on there and will update as details are available.
