Chefs on Food Stamps

mario-batali-food-stamp-125.jpgMario Batali is in the midst of a weeklong challenge in which he and his entire family are eating on a food stamp budget to protest pending Congressional cuts to the program. This means that the chef is subsisting off of whatever food you can get for $31 per week, which means rice and beans, lentil chili and definitely not anything organic. As Batali told the Associated Press, "I'm (expletive deleted) starving." [AP]
