Sound Bites Rocks on Sunday; 3 Stars' Homebrew Shop

SHAW—Help raise money for the DC Central Kitchen this weekend by attending Sound Bites, a charity concert held at the 9:30 Club featuring food options like Pepe, Shake Shack and Room 11. There's also a mixology competition and bold names like Derek Brown, Gina Chersevani, Spike Mendelsohn and others on hand. Tickets are $40 and the party gets down at 5 p.m. [Official Site]

TAKOMA PARK—The guys behind 3 Stars Brewing Company have announced that when their brewery opens in Takoma Park, it will include a homebrew retail component. Per DC Beer, they'll be stocking supplies for homebrewers inside the tasting room — the first homebrew store in DC. [DC Beer]

COLUMBIA HEIGHTS—New Columbia Heights reports that Tasti D-Lite is having a grand opening celebration this weekend. They're offering free small cups or cones from 1-3 p.m., door prizes and more. There are also going to be the same celebrations at the Dupont Circle location, which opened last fall. [NCH]
