The City Paper's newly installed Jessica Sidman has the scoop today on a question that has been pending for far too long — what, oh what, is Victor Albisu up to right now? The chef left his post at BLT Steak back in March, and now Sidman reports that he is about a month away from opening a taqueria named Taco Bamba in Falls Church near the market his mother owns. Reportedly inspired by the taqueria-in-a-gas-station R&R Taqueria, the spot will be small and the menu "will include $2-3 tacos filled with odd bits like sweetbreads and tongue as well as pork and pineapple, chorizo straight from his mom's butcher counter, and more."
And, with that, just another reason to leave District lines. But the new question is, will Michelle Obama check out Taco Bamba now considering all the times Albisu cooked for her over at BLT Steak?
