ATLAS DISTRICT—The City Paper reports that the Hilton Brothers have dropped their plans to open a restaurant on H Street NE given the trillions of other projects they're working on right now. These include The Brixton, El Rey Taqueria, a spot next to the Montserrat House and a diner named Satellite Kitchen. All these are in the U Street area. [WCP]
WEST END—For those who would rather get their happy hour on after dinner, Westend Bistro has launched a post-dinner happy hour on Sunday through Thursday nights from 9-11 p.m. Draft beers are $3, select wines are $5 and mini burgers and fish cakes cost $2. Meanwhile, deviled eggs are available for a buck. [EaterWire]
DUPONT CIRCLE—Speaking of happy hour, for the rest of the summer Cafe Dupont is launching a happy hour ice cream social on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays in which chef Silvan Kramer will be whipping up ice cream cones and ice cream sandwiches between 5 and 8 p.m. Among the options? A Campfire Cookie Sandwich made with graham cracker, dark chocolate ice cream, topped with marshmallows, chocolate balls and gold flecks. [EaterWire]
