A Look at the Beach Balls, Umbrellas and Mayor-Endorsed Cornhole at the New York Avenue Beach Bar

New, 1 comment

[R. Lopez]

The New York Avenue Beach Bar opened on Friday, just two days after its epic sand drop in which literal tons of beach sand were dumped into the downtown parking lot. Now that the bar has been fully set up — with umbrellas, Adirondack chairs, beach balls, flip-flop rafts and a Sea-Doo — it's time for those who were out of town at the real beach to take a look around at the beach that the first revelers experienced this past weekend.

Among those revelers? None other than DC Mayor Vince Gray, who went to the Beach Bar to cut the opening ribbon, but ended up playing a game of cornhole. For the rest of you who have stopped by, let us know the early word either in the comments or dropping a line to dc@eater.com.
