Jessica Sidman investigates DC's ramen boom in this week's Young & Hungry column, most recently evidenced by the opening of Sakuramen. Daisuke Utagawa, owner of the forthcoming Daikaya, explains the growth, saying that "when he began planning for Daikaya three years ago, he still feared that people wouldn't take to ramen." But now, apparently, slurping noodles is "totally sexy" and there's a video of ramen slurpers at Toki Underground to prove it. [WCP]
