Chef Geoff's Bacon Menu; José Andrés at the White House

BACON WIRE—Special alert! Chef Geoff's has announced that as of tomorrow they will be offering a bacon bar menu every Wednesday and Thursday at all of their locations, including Lia's. Porky menu items depend on location, but include tempura espresso cured bacon, Asian roasted pork tacos, chipotle-glazed pork belly, bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin, chocolate bacon caramel corn and more. LOGAN CIRCLE—The Helix Lounge sends word that their summertime Backyard Bash returns tomorrow and continues weekly through Labor Day. So from 5-7 p.m. out on the patio, they'll be offering specialty burgers from their expanded Burger Bar, plus chips for $7 — with a DC Brau added in for $3 more. The Burger Bar is customizable with options like black-eyed pea burgers, chicken breast, garlic aioli and "artisan toppings" such as bacon jam, egg, avocado, brisket chili and more at an additional price.
