In some always-welcome summer drinking news, Hill Country is currently in talks with the National Building Museum to open a tavern on the museum's lawn this summer. Prince of Petworth has spotted a Hill Country Summer BBQ liquor license application attached to a tree on the lawn, advertising a "New Seasonal outdoor tavern on the 5th Street lawn of the National Building Museum serving barbecue food and beverages with live entertainment."
But before anyone gets too excited, a spokesperson for the museum tells Eater that "we are pending working with Hill Country this summer, but nothing has been confirmed yet." She didn't want to say more as the project might not happen — and reps from Hill Country merely said that they're "still working on details." Worth noting is that the application is on the agenda for tomorrow night's Advisory Neighborhood Commission 6C meeting. So stay tuned.
