News of shutterings continues to roll in this week. This time, yesterday's rumors that Zola and Potenza will both close this summer, with Jeffrey Buben of Vidalia and Bistro Bis taking over the Potenza space, are both now confirmed. A manager at Zola tells the City Paper that they'll close on June 30, with Potenza following suit on August 18. Another of the restaurant group's properties, Zola Wine Kitchen, already closed back in May, though the City Paper notes that Potenza Wine Shop intends to remain open.
Meanwhile, how about that Buben rumor? Well, it was also confirmed this morning that he was opening a new restaurant, and now a Potenza general manager tells the City Paper that Buben will take over the space on September 1. What will be going into it? Well, Tom Sietsema's got that one, sort of. He reports in his online chat today that Buben has "plans to install 'two concepts under one roof'" in collaboration with some long-time employees." More as it's available.
