LISTICLES—Details magazine lists Little Serow among the 10 best new Asian restaurants in America. Which sounds pretty damn accurate. The piece warns to "expect dishes like pungent piles of minced catfish with fresh herbs and dried chili, kaffir-lime-laced sausage, and house-made noodles topped with featherlight fish cakes." DOWNTOWN—Once again, the Safeway Barbecue Battle returns this weekend for its 20th year in DC. As usual, they're taking over Pennsylvania Avenue with food from the likes of Hill Country, Pork Barrel BBQ, Rocklands and more, plus chef demos, free food samples, and performances from the likes of Soul Asylum and a Chuck Brown tribute band. Tickets are available at the gate for $15 ($5 for kids). [EaterWire]
EVENT WIRE—Speaking of events, Wine Enthusiast brings its Toast of the Town event back to DC tomorrow evening at the National Building Museum. There will be about 500 wines to try and plenty of food to line your stomach. Tickets are $109 or $169 for VIPs. [EaterWire]
