GEORGETOWN—This year marks the 50th anniversary of 1789 and the Georgetown restaurant is celebrating with a five-course tasting menu priced at $50. Three of these courses will be the diner's choice from among the soups, salads, pastas and cheese sections of the menu, plus one entree and one dessert. 1789 is running this as a summer special starting tonight through September 13, Sunday through Thursday evenings. CLEVELAND PARK—Meanwhile, Ripple is coming up on its second anniversary and has chosen a different way to celebrate: with the launch of a grilled cheese bar tomorrow evening. This will be a customizable grilled cheese situation in which you can pick from 15 types of cheese, plus various types of bread, meat, spreads and vegetables. There is also a menu of options, such as the Krusty Krab, made with jumbo lump crab and béchamel.
