In his live chat today, Washingtonian critic Todd Kliman skirts a question about his dining budget, saying, "I’m not going to disclose my budget in this forum, but I will tell you that it exceeds what I was paid, in a year, to teach literature and writing when I accepted my first full-time post at a university. I think that tells you an awful lot about who we are and aren’t as a country." Meanwhile, his Washington Post counterpart Tom Sietsema revealed last year that he spends $70,000 a year dining out.
