Washingtonian Releases 2012 Best Of Washington

Washingtonian's annual Best Of Washington issue is at last available online, offering all kinds of essential information such as the best restaurants at which to carry on an affair — looking at you, Atlas Room, Vermilion and Addie's. Other food-related categories on the list include best spots to propose, noisy places for a break-up, restaurants with the best versions of summer-time foods (crabs, ice cream, banh mi, etc), a list of bars for each night of the week, plus a piece in which pregnant women determine that the best mocktail in DC can be found at Bourbon Steak.

Of course, reader participation is part of the issue as well — and while Washingtonian readers think cupcakes are the worst food trend, they are part of the problem, picking Curbside Cupcakes for best food truck. Readers also prefer the burgers at Five Guys, pizza at 2 Amys and the coffee at — wait for it — Starbucks. Georgetown grad Geoff Tracy also beats José Andrés and Mike Isabella for best local chef.
