Somehow it's already time to think about the Capital Food Fight, the annual epic fundraiser benefiting the DC Central Kitchen. And lost a bit in last week's holiday shuffle was the official launch of a completely celebrity chef-studded lineup that sees the comedic duo of José Andrés and Anthony Bourdain reprise their hosting roles from last year — when the audience was treated to a lot of great jokes about breasts, balls, Kardashians and Mario Batali.
For the judging table, they've lined up Top Chef host Padma Lakshmi, local former Top Cheftestapant Carla Hall and Bizarre Foods host Andrew Zimmern, who by now should be pretty well acquainted with DC. And, of course, the main event would be the local chefs who will battle it out before the judges: Jeff Buben (Vidalia, Bistro Bis), Enzo Fargione (Elisir) and Guillermo Pernot (Cuba Libre). Tickets are on sale now for the October 8 event. It's priced at $200 a head, but does usually see a sellout crowd.
