EVERYWHERE—Trendy car service Uber announced today that it plans to test out on-demand ice cream delivery here in DC and six other cities. From noon until 5 p.m. on Friday, Uber users will be able to request a visit from the Uber ice cream truck, which will be stocked with King Kone, Klondike and more. The truck will then bring five ice creams for $12 to your location. They've made a promo video of people clamoring for ice cream just in case you're not excited enough already. [Uber via We Love DC]
BOOZE NEWS—The Washington Post reports that 3 Stars Brewing Company has gotten the brewing underway and expect to have their beer on tap in local bars in August. They'll start off working with a couple dozen bars and anticipate to begin filling growlers shortly after beer hits taps. [WaPo]
FOOD TV—Bizarre Foods host Andrew Zimmern kept a pretty good Twitter diary of his time in DC a few weeks back — hanging out with José Andrés and Scott Drewno, plus visiting food trucks — but just in case he missed anything, he files a diary of the week for HuffPo in which he praises Andrés and reveals that he watches Game of Thrones.
