Get ready for the Snallygaster, yet another beer-centric enterprise from the sprawling Neighborhood Restaurant group — otherwise known as the beer-loving folks behind the likes of ChurchKey, Birch & Barley, Rustico, the forthcoming Bluejacket brewery. The Snallygaster tags itself as a jamboree of beer "for the real beer fanatics" and will apparently be stacked with more than 100 Greg Engert-certified beers that a release notes "will be a celebration of classic Oktoberfest lagers, German style and German-inspired beers, exciting autumn seasonals, plus a bevy of coveted international finds, and unheard of rarities."
Scheduled for October 13 at The Yards Park, there's going to be live music, DJs, family-friendly activities and plenty of food on-site, of course. While it's safe to assume that some of the food will come from the restaurant group's many concepts, a spokeswoman says that they plan to bring in outside vendors as well. The unopened Bluejacket hopes to brew something special in time for the festival, but otherwise this is all very much still in the planning stages. Tickets are not on sale yet, but will be $5 to benefit NRG's Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food & Agriculture. Save the date.
