Whole Foods Butcher Battle; A Cocktail Scene Rap Parody

LOGAN CIRCLE—If your plans for this weekend include hanging out on a rooftop, consider the one at Whole Foods on P Street. The store is hosting a butcher competition on Saturday at 6 p.m. featuring a showdown between four of the chain's own butchers. There's also going to be beer on hand and food from local chefs Ris Lacoste (Ris) and Ed Witt (701). Tickets are $20 and proceeds benefit the DC Central Kitchen. [EaterWire]

VIDEO INTERLUDE—From the people who brought you "Whole Foods Parking Lot" comes "Mixologist," a rap parody of the mixology hype. It's all in there: Wax mustaches, secret passwords, giant cubes of ice, and drinks like the Moist Yoga Mat (hemp vodka, 12 year kombucha, and wheatgrass with a coconut water back). [Eater National]

U STREET—The folks over at Café Saint-Ex have introduced a new summer dessert menu that includes things like apricot wasabi sorbet, a marscapone cheesecake and an "un-birthday" angel food cake made with goat cheese frosting and date ice cream — and it's always a corner piece, obviously.
