1) Bethesda: Speaking of Boston-based franchises, Boloco celebrates opening its first DC-area store today in Bethesda with a whole bunch of free burritos. From now through 8 p.m., all small and mini burritos plus the bowls are free, while regular-sized burritos are $1, according to their Facebook page, which also promises a red carpet, raffles and giveaways. We Love DC notes that Boloco offers things like a Nutella smoothie in addition to burritos and is eyeing Georgetown for another DC location. Right now, they're also slated to open a spot downtown. Status: Certified open. 4930 Elm Street, Bethesda; website
2) Downtown: Though they were open in a limited capacity since late June, a rep says that Dunkin' Donuts' new location inside the Red Cross Headquarters is now fully open and operable. This is all part of the coffee chain's strategy to open 60 new location in the DC area over the next five years. Status: Certified open. 2025 E Street NW; website
