Toki Takes Time Off; Alexandria's Beer and Cheese Crisis

ATLAS DISTRICT—Owner Erik Bruner-Yang writes in to let everyone know not to panic when you see Toki Underground's doors closed tomorrow. The restaurant will close for renovations tomorrow and remain closed on Wednesday for the holiday. [EaterWire]

ALEXANDRIA—Among the victims of this weekend's storm is Port City Brewing Company, which DCist reports is at risk of losing 13,000 gallons of beer in their fermentation tanks. Apparently a generator has been acquired, so everything might work out in the end, but the brewery is closed for now. Meanwhile, Cheesetique had a depressing weekend throwing out 20 pieces of buffalo mozzarella, 30 pounds of pate, some Iberico ham and a whole lot more cheese ruined in the power outage.
