BETHESDA—Some bad news to close out the day for Bethesda-dwellers. Bethesda magazine reports that Persimmon has closed for the next three months as it renovates and transforms into more of a bistro-like restaurant. It should reopen in October — perhaps with a new name, too. [Bethesda]
PALISADES—There's been a kitchen shuffle over at Et Voila, where the Washington Post has it that partner and pastry chef Mickael Cornu has left the restaurant on good terms. He's now in San Diego, while Belgian pastry chef David Crozat joins the restaurant in October. [WaPo]
COLUMBIA HEIGHTS—Beginning tomorrow evening, Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats launches a series of Wednesday night vegan suppers such as taco night and "sushi raw night." There will be two seatings each Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. and 8 p.m. Reservations are $28 per person and can be made by calling 202-299-9700. [EaterWire]
