After nearly 50 years in Georgetown, The Guards closes tonight either temporarily or, perhaps, forever. The Washington Post reports that the restaurant's owner and landlord are "locked in lease negotiations." Depending on who wins that battle, The Guards will either close down for good on M Street or reopen, possibly after some renovations. Stay tuned for the conclusion on this one. [WaPo]
