La Forchetta Reveals its Brand New Name: Al Dente

For all those who haven't been able to sleep at night wondering what exactly to call La Forchetta from now on, here's your answer: Al Dente.

To quickly recap, La Forchetta owner Hakan Ilhan announced last month that he was changing the newcomer's name to avoid confusion — and a potential legal battle — with Adams Morgan's La Fourchette. He launched a contest to rename the restaurant with a prize of a $2,000 donation to the charity of the winner's choice, but making clear he already had some names in mind.

Well, it turns out Ilhan really liked that name he picked himself because apparently Al Dente has been twirling in his head since April. Still, the restaurant picked Kathryn Baker's submission of Trattoria D'Amici as the runner-up and winner of the charitable donation. The Al Dente name becomes effective in September.
