After six years in Old Town Alexandria, Bastille is planning to change things up a little come September. The restaurant has announced plans to close from September 3-14 for some renovations and, per a release, "revamping the menu to bring the ideas back toward classic bistro dishes."

The renovations in question will be mostly a complete revamp of the bar to add space and viewable wine storage, according to a rep, plus a paint job to lighten up the vibe. Servers uniforms are going more casual and these bistro menu changes mean more charcuterie, cheese, vegetables and dishes like chicken chausseur. They're keeping their three and four-course prix-fixe options, but adding a more approachable $29 two-course option for Monday through Wednesday evenings.

And while the restaurant is closed for renovations? Well, apparently they're booked over at LivingSocial's 918 F Street for a "pop-up restaurant" from September 5-8 — perhaps a chance for the Virginia-averse to try it out? Here's the proposed new dinner menu.
