DOWNTOWN—Even though they had to paint over murals of Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky and other political sex scandals, Sax is not giving up yet on including paintings of politicians. The Washington Examiner reports that there are now portraits of Barack Obama and Mitt Romney on the walls in honor of the election, but no hanky panky therein because, per the club's owner: "Obviously, they are two boring guys. ... They have no scandals. They have no ex-wives." [Washington Examiner]
JOSE ANDRES WIRE—Because who really wants to walk or take Metro anymore, chef José Andrés has teamed up with car service Uber this week for a lunchtime promotion. Should you take an Uber car to any of Andrés' restaurants in DC between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. now through Friday, the ride will come at a 50 percent discount. Plus, one rider each day will win dinner for two at one of the Think Food Group restaurants. [Uber Blog]
POP UPS—Last week came word that Alexandria's Bastille is briefly closing to revamp in September, but also that they're planning a pop-up at LivingSocial's 918 F Street in the meantime. Well now that deal is online and it is apparently a five-course aphrodisiac dinner with pairings for $69. [Previously, LivingSocial]
