New, 1 comment

ADAMS MORGANPleasant Pops is among the top ten finalists in the American Express "Big Break for Small Business" contest. If they can make it into the top five, Pleasant Pops will win $25,000, a strategy session with Facebook and American Express OPEN executives, and a special discount weekend for local American Express cardholders. Voting will be open through August 31 here. [Eaterwire]

LOGAN CIRCLE— Remember how Going Out Gurus readers suggested names for that new pub opening in the old ACKC location on 14th Street? Turns out owner Aaron Gordon won't use the winning name, Woody Creek, after all. He's going to name it Drafting Table instead, in honor of the mid-20th century drafting tables that will be used as decor. The global beer selection, classic cocktail list, and comfort food-heavy menu remains the same. [WaPo]

DUPONT CIRCLE— Scott Circle's Nage Bistro is currently closed till September 4 for a summer break, and Prince of Petworth speculates that the restaurant will be renovated in the meantime. [PoP]
