DUPONT CIRCLE—Tomorrow afternoon marks the first-ever Hula Hank's Luau going down at the Dupont Circle location of Hank's Oyster Bar. Jamie Leeds is teaming up with Mikala Brennan of the Hula Girl food truck for an event featuring three whole roasted suckling pigs, unlimited oysters and shrimp, and sides, plus chicken skewers and pineapple upside-down cake from Hula Girl. Tickets are $75 and include a tiki mug and six drink tickets. [EaterWire]
GEORGETOWN—Once again this year, Bourbon Steak is trying to improve August in whatever way it can with its annual Dog Days of Summer special that pairs a Red Apron Butchery hot dog with a pint of Port City beer for a mere $9. This special is off-menu and available in the bar and lounge Sunday through Thursday during regular dining hours for the rest of the month. [EaterWire]
TREND WATCH—Are frozen drinks so trendy right now? Apparently so, as the Washington Post has a slideshow of "new-wave frozen drinks hitting DC right now, while Urban Daddy reports on the launch of Dippin' Dots-style cocktails premiering off-menu tonight at A Bar. They're called Drinkin' Dots, obviously. [WaPo, UD]
