Bon Appétit Names Fiola, Little Serow, Virtue Feed & Grain to Best New Restaurants List

New, 2 comments

Today, Bon Appétit has released a list of America's 50 best new restaurants, including three from the DC area. Fiola, Little Serow and Old Town Alexandria's Virtue Feed & Grain all grace the list as selected by the magazine's restaurant editor Andrew Knowlton. This list will be whittled down to just 10 hot restaurants when Bon Appétit releases its annual restaurant issue next week .

This is but the latest of national accolades to pile up for Fiola, which Esquire named a best new restaurant last year and was also nominated in this category at this year's James Beard Awards. Knowlton explains that Fabio Trabocchi's cooking has only gotten better with time, plus the restaurant's bar is a prime location for political watching: "It beats C-SPAN any day."

Meanwhile, Johnny Monis' beloved new Thai concept Little Serow is deemed "totally transporting," noting both the whiskey ribs and the vintage dresses its female servers wear. And Knowlton appreciates Cathal Armstrong's hangout spot Virtue Feed & Grain for its "gutsy pub grub," plus those hoptails from Todd Thrasher. Plus, a little farther afield but crucial to the chef's devoted followers in the DC area, Peter Chang Café in Richmond gets a nod.
