Six Months of Free Happy Hours; Election 2012 Cocktails

14TH STREET—Sister restaurants Bar Pilar and Cafe Saint-Ex are both looking to launch happy hour promotions and have turned to happy hour consumers to make the tough decisions in a "choose-your-own-adventure" happy hour contest on Facebook. The two winners will receive free happy hours for six months — one gift certificate of an undisclosed amount a week. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN—Considering its presidential theme, obviously Lincoln has gotten in on the presidential polling bandwagon. Tomorrow — weirdly pegged to September 11 in a press release, explaining that it is Patriot Day — the restaurant rolls out two new presidential race-predicting cocktails, The Elephant and The Donkey, that will run through Election Day. Each one is $11 and will be available after 4 p.m. As per usual with these things, the one that receives the most orders will (maybe) predict the winner of the election. [EaterWire]

WEST END—Thrillist has it that the Westin Hotel in the West End has a new "Latin speakeasy" in the form of newly opened Boveda. It's not really clear why this place has dubbed itself a speakeasy, "so maybe they just meant that it's tough to talk with your mouth full of goodness like a mixed churrasco plate (chili-marinated skirt steak, ancho-orange pork, Portuguese sausage, and annatto-marinated chicken w/ green rice and fresh mango salsa), and head-on snapper prepped "old school" (brushed with green recado sauce and fried crisp)."
