At long last, the 24-hour diner zooming toward a fall opening in Columbia Heights has a name: The Coupe. Yes, the team behind Tryst, The Diner and Open City finally unveiled that long-awaited piece of information today with a press release noting that this is going to be "a hybrid of their first three concepts."
The release shares little more than what has otherwise been reported about the project — it will offer Tryst coffees, pastries, desserts and "a restaurant menu that offers a range of comfort food items throughout the day and night with an added mix of entrees and specials at certain times (eggs, waffles and other diner staples will be served all the time)." Plus that bar program focusing on craft cocktails, but with "an eclectic mix of beers" and wine on tap. The restaurant should open "over the next few weeks."
