1) Rockville: Nearly a year after signing a lease on the old Againn Tavern space in Rockville, Geoff Tracy has finally opened the first Maryland location of his Chef Geoff's restaurant group today. The restaurant has been in soft opening for the past couple of days, but is now officially open for lunch and more going forward — and taking reservations on OpenTable, as Tracy pointed out in his extensive Twitter coverage of the opening. Status: Certified open. 12256 Rockville Pike, Rockville; website
2) Potomac: And in better late than never news, Grilled Oyster Company opened in the Cabin John Shopping Mall last week from married restaurateurs Rick and Valerie Dugan. Today, the Washingtonian has a slideshow tour of the Chesapeake-inspired seafood restaurant "outfitted with white tablecloths, nautical prints, and a giant metal Chesapeake crab sculpture." Lunch launched yesterday, while happy hour and brunch are still on the way. Status: Certified open. 7943 Tuckerman Lane, Potomac; 301-299-9888.
