Here is a horrifying story: A man is filing a lawsuit against Georgetown bar Smith Point for assault and battery that resulted in a severed finger. The City Paper tells Robert S. Dyer's gory tale in which he claims he became intoxicated at the behest of the bartenders, then booted from the bar, at which point "a Smith Point employee allegedly closed the door on Dyer's hand—cutting off his left pinky finger." Dyer now has just a stub and is seeking at least $500,000 from the bar. [WCP]
