MT VERNON SQUARE—Prince of Petworth reports that Marrakesh has closed its doors on New York Avenue and, according to Rasmus Auctioneers, "will make a complete liquidation of all its 2 bars, substantial night club assets, kitchen and exotic decorative accents." [PoP]

ROSSLYN—Meanwhile, the Washington Business Journal has news of the impending shutter of a Rosslyn stalwart, Santa Fe Cafe. Apparently, the lease was up and the owners couldn't afford the prospect of increased rent so they've decided to shut it down in late October. No word on new tenants for the space yet. [WBJ]
