Kraut Rocks—the month-long, online and offline food experience putting sauerkraut at the forefront of the DC dining scene—is in full swing. Before the program launched, Top Chef alum Spike Mendelsohn, the host and fearless leader of the Kraut Rocks program, invited seven featured chefs to a test kitchen to prepare a kraut-centric dish and present it to his colleagues for review. Even Spike and special guest Mike Isabella got in on the action (view their kraut recipes here).
Serving the star ingredient up in everything from Scotch eggs to mussels, the chefs are featuring the dish at each of their respective restaurants for the whole month of September.
