Eater reported yesterday afternoon that Bachelor Pad/Bachelorette star Chris Bukowski had plans to open a "ladies style" sports bar in the DC area — though details were to be revealed at a press conference/Bachelor Pad watching party Monday night at Sugo Cicchetti. Fortunately, a few more details have dribbled out this morning. First of all, the City Paper learns that there's no space yet, but they're looking in Clarendon and yes, Cava chef Dimitri Moshovitis is confirmed as consulting on the menu. More importantly, this is maybe not a breastaurant:
[T]he place will serve "really nice edgy food that women would like." The menu will consist of small plate bar food, "not just wings and potato skins." Greenberg also says he envisions "leather sofas where ladies can drink wine." By day and into the evening, the place will play sports on TVs, but later at night, it will transform into a dancing destination.
Eater National speculates that perhaps this is a sign that Bukowski won this season of Bachelor Pad — in which he is apparently the villain — in order to get the money for the restaurant project. The mothership further notes that on the show "Bukowski was paired with Blakely, a former Hooters 'VIP Cocktail Waitress.' But he dropped her, so maybe he'll let her be a 'VIP cocktail waitress here to make up for it?"
