Vendetta Will Replace Red Palace on H Street NE (Updated)

Well, now we know what will be replacing the now-shuttered Red Palace on H Street NE. The bar, which closed at the end of the year due to new ownership, looks to be the spot where developer Joe Englert resurrects his plans for Vendetta, an Italian restaurant.

Update: H Street Great Street originally reported the news, but now Young & Hungry reports that Teddy Folkman of Granville Moore's will not be involved in the project.

The casual H Street NE spot will feature an "authentic, soulful" menu that includes six to eight different pastas and sauces that can be mixed and matched. In addition to more traditional sauces, you'll find pork jowl and tomato ragu, squid ink, and walnut kale pesto.

Vendetta was originally planned for another building on H Street years ago, but that project fell through. The restaurant will feature some fun touches like bocce and the executive chef will be James Figueroa-Perez, from Miami.
