1) Tysons Corner: Paul Bakery has certainly found a U.S. home in the DC area. The French chain continues to expand; its latest location is Tysons Corner (that brings them to five in the area). This is the bakery's first Virginia location, located just outside of one of the Tysons Galleria main entrances. The Paul store is 2,600 square feet in size with seating for about 50 people spread over three rooms. In the spring, the cafe plans to add outdoor seating. Status: Opening today. 2001 International Drive #1856-G, McLean, VA; website.
2) Columbia Heights: PoPville takes a visit to Mi Cuba Cafe, which opened over the weekend. The restaurant has a fresh orange juice machine and Cuba-inspired decor, as well as a menu that includes such items as chicken soup and Cuban spaghetti.
