Frederik de Pue's upcoming Table restaurant will, in fact, make it open by January (should nothing dramatic happen between now and Friday). The restaurant has announced that Jan. 18 will be the official opening day for the Shaw neighborhood restaurant.
This means the 50 seat restaurant will be open in time for inauguration-related tourists to see the place, should they chose. They're starting off with only offering dinner service, but will eventually expand to breakfast, lunch and brunch.
Menu items planned for the upcoming restaurant include garlic frogs' legs, pasta dishes and some Belgian inspired fare from de Pue, an alumnus of 42 Catering. The chef is also opening the seafood restaurant Azur later this winter in the former Cafe Atlantico and minibar building.
