Aroma Coffee, Protein Bar Opening in Late January

Today brings word of two projected casual restaurant openings in late January.

First is Aroma Espresso Bar. A spokesman tells Eater that the company does not have an exact opening date planned, but hopes to debut by the end of the month. Aroma will be the first incarnation of the Israeli coffee chain in the area. The fast casual outpost not only has coffee, but also some Middle Eastern-influenced menu items like grilled haloumi sandwiches and mozzarella beet salads. There are a handful in New York, New Jersey and Florida. Look for it in Westfield Montgomery Mall.

Meanwhile, Protein Bar's publicist Tweets a January 30 opening date for the Ballston location of the healthy-leaning chain. The restaurant will be serving up its bar-ritos at 800 N. Glebe Road; this will be the second D.C. area location.
