Frederick de Pue's neighborhood restaurant, Table, opens tonight in Shaw. The 50-seat restaurant is housed within a two-level former auto repair space at 903 N St. NW.

The design of the restaurant is fairly simple, with an open kitchen and a color scheme that will change with the seasons (reflected in such touches as the aprons and wall decorations). There is no bar; a rear deck will come later this spring. Bare wood, Asian-inspired lighting features and lots of light help complete the look. Food at Table changes frequently, but dishes like frogs' legs and Belgian fare are to be expected.
