Hikari Sushi & Sake Bar to Open This Week

District Cuisine has its eye on Hikari Sushi & Sake Bar, a new H Street NE Japanese restaurant. The restaurant was originally planning to open its doors over the weekend, but now is hoping to debut sometime this week, the blog reports.

The owner, Heesook Chun, has opened nine Japanese restaurants over the past fifteen years, including the Matsutake restaurants (which are a fixture on Eater's Airport Dining Guides). Construction began on the latest restaurant more than a year ago.

The restaurant is shooting for a "warm and trendy" atmosphere and will offer carryout and delivery. The website, which has not been updated in some time, is clearly a work in progress.
